I feel like I really haven’t shared a lot about my life on this blog … I’ve been so focused on being sure I’m getting my essays up that I’m forgetting to be fun and personal! Well, this post is gonna be all about my personal life, and maybe you’ll even find it fun too!!π
Oooookay! *cracks knuckles*
School
I’ve been steadily working on school and catching up on my Literature essays, especially. Stay on the lookout for some deep theological discussions soon! Speaking of which, send in your bible questions! My friend, SonofYHWH, does this on his blog and it looks like he’s having so much fun, so! Ask me your questions! I’d love to study and make a post to answer them!
Music
Yes, this gets its own section! I’ve been playing my violin about four days a week in the last … week and a half? Anyhoo, I’m working on ear training and playing chord sheets simply by recognizing the key. (It’s going as well as can be expected for a beginner violinist!) But I’m having so much fun! (Tip: focus on proper form with the hand that holds the violin. My improper form is really tripping me up at this stage!)
Piano is going much better. I’m working on my level 6 and 7, which include studying 18 different scales in one year *gasps* I’ve learned SO much with my new teacher! Its amazing.
Lifestyle
You guys! For breakfast, just crack a ton of eggs and shred some cheese into the bowl. Whisk it, then shuffle it around on the frying pan (don’t forget to add the salt!) It’s so good and healthy, and you can play with it by adding onions, garlic, and other veggies. I love adding spinach and mushrooms.
Okay I’m done being a foodie! Moving on to my daily routine …
6:00 AM – Get up, go to work.
8:30 AM – Come back and eat breakfast
9:00 AM – Violin, clean up room, respond to blog comments
10:00 AM – Start school
12:00 AM – Blogging
1:00 PM – Essays, Piano practice
*normally the afternoon isn’t as structured as my morning. I do my house chores, draw, blog, play chess, fold laundry, bake, study the bible, etc.*
5:00 PM – Supper (with my family)
6:00 PM – Go to work
9:00 PM – Come home, skincare, pleasure reading
10:00 PM – Bedtime *normally … hehe*
Favorite songs — Theme: “In Trials”
The River (Jordan Feliz)
This is THE awesomest song! I’ve known it forever and love it!! I played it at my baptism this summer and for me it really symbolizes starting over and being made clean.
A More Beautiful You (Johnny Diaz)
Another song from the days of my (early!) youth! It’s an amazing song because it targets every young woman listening, wondering if she could ever be the ideal “beautiful” person. The song deals with common inner struggles, and says that none of those can define you if you abandon them and move forward. God doesn’t make mistakes when he made you and me, and you are beautiful just the way you are!
Scars (I Am They)
First time I heard this one, I cried. This song is all about how trials make you who you are and you wouldn’t be the same strong believer without them. Listen to it. That’s an order!
Broken Beautiful (Ellie Holcomb)
This song has the same theme as “Scars”. How God can take what you’ve done to yourself, what you’ve gone through, and make something beautiful out of it!
Strong enough (Mathew West)
I feel like this ALL the time! Like I’m too busy or tired or weak or sad or sore to be able to continue, like I’m not strong enough. But I don’t have to be strong enough, because I never could do it on my own anyway. There is hope.
Make a Way (I Am They)
This song reminds me that even when it seems impossible that things could ever work out for the better or end up the way God says they will, He Will Make A Way.
Even Then (Micah Tyler)
This was one of my favorite songs from a few years ago. It’s amazing to know that in the trials you’re never alone when Christ is your defense.
Favorite verses
“Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, βMy grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.β Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christβs sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
So even though I’m not always strong enough to handle the infirmities and the hardships that life throws at me, God’s strength will be made evident in spite of my weakness.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7, NKJV
I don’t have to bottle it up inside. I can pour it out to God. He knows what I’m going through. When I’m thankful for all that I already have instead of focusing on what I lack, I’ll have way more peace – the peace that passes ALL understanding! If I ever have that peace, I think that would be really amazing!

Good for you! Do you recommend the Suzuki books?

Thank you! Yes, I would recommend the song books themselves for sure! The method is better for little kids beginning violin, though.
My teacher teaches me using the books but not the method if that makes sense:) π

I love the song “The River,” even though I didn’t know who it was by (shh… don’t tell anyone). Also, I admire you for getting up so early and working! Although I *technically* get up wake up early, I almost always hit the snooze button. I would never be able to work so early in the morning, so you go girl! I’m so happy that you like one of my blog posts. You really brightened my day! Also, I love Philippians 4:6-7. It’s so peaceful.
God Bless,
